노 콤멘트

Foreign friends have two views of my country. One, it is very clean. Second, it is very strict. I usually have no comment. There is always a conflict of interest when you comment on something you have vested interest in. Epimenides should know better not to say, "All Cretans are liars." when he was a Cretan.

Here are some not-very-new pictures of a city state where dreams come alive only after it is asleep. When dreams are sweet, very few people would want to wake up.

  1. WHAT AN IMPRESSIVE DESCRIPTION, DREAMS COME ALIVE ONLY AFTER IT IS ASLEEP. ㅋㅋㅋ

  2. If one had just one day and one night to discover the city, and leaving guidebooks aside, which 4 corners would you go to to catch a glimpse of the atmosphere?

  3. Marina Bay, Esplanade, Merlion Park, Boat Quay, Clark Quay - All places are by the Singapore River and within walking distance. Good for a evening stroll.

Take a ride on the Singapore flyer, duck tour (street and river cruise), hippo bus city tour (open top bus) or river boat cruise.

If you still have time, visit the National Museum, Chinatown or Little India.

In my opinion, it is better to follow the guidebook since one day and one night is too short a time to venture beyond what the guidebook recommends

  4. Thank you, maybe seeing less is more - "the more you see the less you know".

To get a coarse grained view, and from your perspective regarding photography, how would you choose between the top of the Sands, the Flyer, Equinox, the Suntec 4 and the OUB for a day view/for a night view? Hope you don't mind such a question.

  5. For the night, I'll choose Equinox. It has a cozy setting which let you enjoy your dinner and the night skyline of Singapore at the same time.

For the day, it is between top of the Sands or the Flyer.

Suntec 4 and OUB are not really in a 'right' position for a good view of Singapore skyline. They're supposed to be part of the skyline to be viewed.

By the way, I've never been to any of the above places. My recommendations are based on the pictures and videos I have seen and some local knowledge.
