메밀꽃

Bongpyeong (봉평) of Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, is famous for its buckwheat blossoms. Early autumn is when the flowers bloom. Currently, fields after fields in Bongpyeong are filled with countless tiny white blossoms. A famous novel, "When Buckwheat Flowers Bloom", written by late writer Lee Hyo-seok describes buckwheat blossoms “as white as sprinkled rock salts”.

Buckwheat flower by itself looks ordinary but when they bloom in such overwhelming large number, the grandness of bloom alone is beauty. Talking about buckwheat, I feel like eating the black-colour buckwheat noodles now.
