풍력발전기

A total of 53 wind turbines are installed in the mountainous region of Daegwalleong (대관령, 大关岭), Gangwon Province, supplying enough electricity for 60% of Gangneung's (강릉, 江陵) population or 50,000 households.

The place where you can find these wind turbines is in Samyang Ranch (삼양목장, 三養牧場). Samyang is more popularly known for its Samyang Ramen (instant noodle) though. As for the ranch, it occupies more than 600 square kilometres of grassland area, the largest in East Asia.

I shall be back with more pictures of the place soon.

  1. wow, this is one of those place that I would really like to visit if I have a chance to visit Korea. I have seen beautiful windmill photos like this before and I wondered where it was. Can you provide a guide on how you get there? Very much appreciated. :)

  3. I know so I went to Pyeongchang to help you find the place.

Getting to Samyeong Ranch is not as difficult as you may think. I went in the morning and was back in Seoul at night.

I shall tell you how to get there in another post.
