It has been raining since last evening. This Spring carries a lot of rainfall. In fact, it has been raining almost every weekend this month. But just only last Winter there was fear that there is going to be drought this Spring which will be a nightmare for the farmers.
Snow rarely fell last Winter. But yet I was reading the weather forecast everyday hoping to hear some news about impending snow. There was a lot of waiting but before I knew it, the season was over. How should I describe the feeling of waiting for a news that never come?
This evening, I went out for dinner - my first proper meal for the day. I have ramyeon for breakfast and 'ddeok' for lunch. It was a very wet day so I didn't feel like going anywhere. This evening rain wasn't very big but big enough to drench me if I didn't carry an umbrella. So I carried an umbrella which I bought last Winter. The umbrella was slightly damaged on the very first day I used it because the wind was extremely strong that day.
When I arrived at the eating house, I placed my folded umbrella together with the rest of the wet umbrellas inside a container. However, after my dinner I discovered my umbrella was gone. I couldn't understand how could someone has mistaken my umbrella for his when my umbrella was visibly damaged. When I confirmed my umbrella was gone for good, I walked into the rain and got myself a new one at a nearby shop. It was nice to be able to get to something quickly when I most needed it.
Something I realise today: I cannot promise anyone snow but I can always offer an umbrella before the season is over.
