KHU is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year. Celebration which started two weeks ago culminated in the 'mega' concert on Friday. Three big names of the Korean entertainment industry, Son Dambi, Lee Hyori and Rain, were invited as guest singers. Their combined popularity attracted about 50,000 people to fill up the amphitheatre and the buildings around it. The atmosphere was nothing short of electrifying.
Just to give you a feel of the atmosphere that night, I have included a video of Rain performing. Warning: Turn down the volume of your speakers first before playing the video if you do not want to turn deaf. The screaming by the fans is kinda loud.
The girl band, After School, though fast gaining popularity in Korea was overshadowed by the bigger stars that night.
Son Dambi
Lee Hyori
Jeong Ji-hun or more popularly known as Rain

부럽다.. 진짜. 혹시 이효리의 비디오가 있어? ㅎㅎ
For Lee Hyori's video, look under the 3 links below. They are the better recordings

Hi Equinox,
ReplyDeleteGlad that you've revived your blog...& i'm extremely envious of your long stay in Korea.
Well, I'm intending to purchase a e-dictionary which is good in eng-kor & kor-eng translations, better still if it provides examples of sentence-making..do you have any recommendations? If yes, will you mind telling me the brand and model?
Thanks :)
Hi Alison,
ReplyDeleteMost of the students swear by Nurian's e-dictionary because it has richer content.
If you are coming to Seoul, I can help you with your purchase.
Well..if I'm able to go to Seoul, I guess i will be able to select a suitable e-dictionary more carefully. Too bad I can't be there.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking of getting the Korean owner of the supermart in singapore to import the e-dic for me without me going there. I'll just have to pray that I will select the correct one since there won't be any hands-on experience.
Thanks anyway:)
If that is the case, visit Nurian's website below and take a look at what you are buying.

Most student uses the X-series.
wow. that's a really fast reply..
ReplyDeleteI'm doing a search on nurian's e-dic online now.
It seems that one of the models has 13 languages in it, which makes me doubt the storage capacity available for each language.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help.
I guess I'll be the odd one out in my class if I'm really buying this brand since most of my classmates are using either iriver or Sharp:)
nurian is the e-dic of choice for those who appreciate its substance.
ReplyDeletei can swear that for some of the vocab that i can't find in my iriver e-dic, nurian has them.
but one shortcoming of nurian e-dic is that it doesn't look sexy.
By the way, how many e-dics do you have?
ReplyDeleteI read your older posts..It seems that you've got 1 iriver & 1 Sharp e-dic?
my sharp was damaged by leaky batteries.
ReplyDeletethat why i bought my iriver.
