와이탄 (外灘)

My first night in Shanghai was spent walking down The Bund. I was eager to check out the changes at The Bund after its major facelift. It was a warm night and the huge crowd at The Bund probably added to the heat. The wind was blowing but the sultriness was persistent. The weather wasn't particularly great for a stroll but the beauty and glamour on both sides of Hunagpu River made up for everything.

Oriental Pearl Tower standing tall at Pudong

The 'new' Bund is more visitor-friendly with lot more sitting space

The bull from the Wall Street. Bear was no where to be seen.

Even though it was almost eleven, The Bund was still packed with crowd

Old and modern buildings 'competing' for attention
