  4. Hi Andy, you should also attempt TOPIK one of these days to check your progress.

Jean, all the best for your topik. Anyway I didn't make the picture. I just edited it.

Deon, perhaps you would also like to look up People Association's website. Community centres also conduct basic Korean classes which are quite affordable. There are also language schools like Cambridge which offers Korean classes.

  5. Hi equinox. My Korean isn't that good yet. I haven't studied Korean in a while, and I need to check some stuff in my beginners books, but I sent them back to Australia. haha.

Maybe, if i continue to study and get better. I'm even considering coming back to Korea for a while, after I've saved cash, to study at a uni. I like Korea, but I hate being an English teacher here. Just need a change.

  6. It's good to take a break since you're starting to dislike your job. Many Singaporeans would like to be in your shoes though. We are not allowed to be an English teacher in Korea and that's a shame.

  7. Hi equinox, just out of curiousity why are Singaporeans not allowed to be English teachers in Korea?

  8. Min, to be an English language teacher in Korea you need special visa. Korea only issues such visa to foreigners from six countries. They are US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. According to estimate by Samsung Economic Research Institute, Koreans spend over USD15 billion annually attending private English tutoring classes. That's like 10% of Singapore GDP. Lucrative as it may be, it is restricted to the privileged fews.
